The energy of any country is closely linked to its economy. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has established that fossil fuels play a key role in global energy. their share in primary energy consumption in 2035 will be 75%, today - 81%. 

Today in Ukraine, electricity generated by thermal power plants (TPPs) is more than 37%, using fossil fuels: natural gas and coal. Their equipment is designed for long-term operation. 

The technical level of this equipment in terms of thermal efficiency, automation and number of staff, harmful emissions into the environment does not always meet modern requirements. Most of the equipment of the Ukrainian electric and thermal power industry is physically worn out by almost 50-70%.

To increase the efficiency of TPPs, it is important to decommission old low-cost equipment and replace it with promising ones, which provides a radical reduction in specific fuel consumption for electricity and heat production, increasing installed capacity and efficiency, reducing staffing, reducing environmentally harmful emissions. environment, as well as reducing repair costs. 

Today, coal-fired power units with an efficiency of 45-46% and steam-gas units (CCGT) with an efficiency of 55-58% are being built and reliably operating in thermal energy.
